Recorded as part of a two year research project in which I have been working on translating the solo saxophone music of Evan Parker to the upright bass, I have decided to release this track during the COVID19 pandemic as a gift to everyone under quarantine. An album documenting the research more fully should be recorded and released after the the quarantine is over.

About the title:
Sektet is the name of the of the two barges said to be used by the Egyptian sun god Ra in his journey through the sky. The etymology of the word "translation" stems from the "carrying across" of something to another "place", so a barge metaphor seemed fitting for this piece.
